Energy Recovery Driving Method Overview

This technology addresses the problem of electrode impedance at the plasma discharge formation time.   With the prior art energy recovery method, the electrode current is reduced to zero at the time the discharge forms.  With minimal current flowing through the electrodes, the electrode impedance is high.  As the discharge forms, the voltage across the cell drops sharply, reducing efficacy and operating margin.

This technology focuses on maintaining the current flow in a sustain electrode between the resonant voltage rise time and the discharge formation time.   According to this method, the logic anticipates the expected loading for each subfield and operates the sustain pulse generators to minimize the effect of electrode inductance while maintaining high energy recovery efficiency.
